Club Atlético Huracán

a bit of context

The Club Atlético Huracán is a social and sports institution from the Parque Patricios neighborhood in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its main activity is men’s football, with its first team playing in the Argentine Primera División.

Originally founded on May 25, 1903, in the Pompeya neighborhood, it was reorganized starting from November 1, 1908. Its nickname is El Globo (the Balloon), or its diminutive, El Globito, and its fans are known as “Quemeros”. The color of its jersey is white, with red insignia and details.

It owns the Tomás Adolfo Ducó stadium, nicknamed “El Palacio” (the Palace), where it hosts its home games, located at 2570 Amancio Alcorta Avenue. Its social headquarters, which it also owns, is located at 3159 Caseros Avenue. Additionally, it has a sports field known as “La Quemita,” situated at 1981 Mariano Acosta Avenue, on land granted by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.

Its historic rival is San Lorenzo, with whom it plays one of the most characteristic derbies in the country. Despite not being part of the group of the big teams in Argentine football, matches against the other big teams, River Plate, Racing Club, Independiente, and Boca Juniors, are also considered classics, especially those against Boca Juniors, a former rival of the Argentine Football Association during the amateur era.

Furthermore, it is one of the eleven institutions that make up the gallery of “FIFA classic clubs” from Argentina.”
